Is waxing right for you?

• • Some of our waxing treatments are particularly intimate. We want to make you feel as comfortable as possible. Most people will feel very self-conscious when exposing our privates to a stranger, especially when they are particularly hairy…but that’s why you’re here! Just remember, we have seen it ALL before and perform bikini waxes every day. We will always do our best to ensure you feel reassured, comfortable and at ease.

  • There are several different types of bikini wax based on how much hair is removed…

  • The Bikini Wax our “entry level” bikini wax which is perfect for newbies to waxing. It involves a tidy up of hair around the sides of where your knickers would normally sit. Perfect to get you ‘bikini ready”!

  • The Brazilian Wax involves a lot more hair removal, this is sometimes known as a 'landing strip'. It removes all hair from the peri-anal, vagina lips and just leaves a small amount of neatly shaped hair on the pubic mound, you can have a thin strip, a triangle or maybe even a heart!

  • The Hollywood Wax is the full whammy! with ALL hair removed, front and back.

  • Before your appointment, it is important that you do not apply any moisturisers, perfumed products and it always helps to arrive clean and fresh to avoid any embarrassment or worry.

    We will give you cleansing wipes to use if you wish.

    We advise allowing at least 4 weeks hair growth before your first wax & a minimum of 4 weeks between waxes to ensure all hairs have done a full cycle and to ensure we can get all the hairs.

  • We will ask you remove all of your bottoms and lie down on the bed, whilst we step out of the room. You can either keep your own knickers on or we can give you a disposable thong for the bikini line. For Brazilian & Hollywood, we recommend not wearing underwear so we are able to remove all hair from below the knicker line. If you feel particularly self conscious, you can wear a disposable thong but please just be aware this may mean we are unable to access the full area to remove all the hair.

  • The therapist will ask you to position your legs so she can start applying the wax.

  • Just how painful is it? Everyone is different, it depends on your pain threshold and type of hair, but we won’t lie, it is painful, but Lycon wax has been developed to reduce the amount of pain compared to other waxes. The more you have it done, the easier it gets as the hairs grow back finer.

  • Our therapist will work as quickly as possible to ensure it is over in an instant and put some lovely soothing cream on afterwards.

  • We may need to remove any stray hairs with tweezers for a perfect finish.

  • Then that’s it! It’s all over and you can get dressed.

  • A bit of redness is normal afterwards for a few hours. 

  • It is advised to avoid hot showers, baths, saunas, hot tubs for 12 hours after your wax as the area will be particularly sensitive.

  • We also recommend wearing comfortable, soft knickers afterwards as overly tight / lacy / scratchy pants can cause more irritation.

  • For 24hrs after your waxing appointment Avoid doing any exercise, applying any products to the area, sun exposure, touching the area or any sexual activity (for bikini waxes)

  • Regular waxing results in longer lasting results, finer hair growth and a less painful experience each time, so we recommend booking regular appointments every 4-6 weeks.
